How do I help my husband ger looked at by a professional soccer team?

My husband is an amazing soccer player he has played semi-pro and amateur soccer here in Chicago. He is frustrated because he doesn't have any guidence on how to go pro. Does anyone out there know what the first steps to take are?How do I help my husband ger looked at by a professional soccer team?
I would suggest checking the MLS website regularly especially in the early. A lot of teams hold open try-outs( my hometown Galaxy had one earlier this year) Also search the web for a local USL or PDL team (minor league) who might do the same thing. Just realize that your husband has to pay an entry fee to attend these try-outs.

I think his best bet will be to try to catch on with a minor league team and try to catch the attention of pro scouts,

I have to also echo what another poster has mentioned and that is your husband's age. If he is older than 25 his chances are going to be competing with a lot of 22 year college grads many of whom have been competing in NCAA Men's Soccer, which is very competitive.

Good luck to your husband, but also remind him that working hard and providing for his family makes him an ';All-Star'; too.How do I help my husband ger looked at by a professional soccer team?
I heard that the Chicago Fire has open tryouts once a year. There are also people you can e-mail regarding this kind of thing. I'm sure the Fire handle this type of thing. First, ya need some kind of videotape, showing his talents. If that doesn't work, ask around and talk to some college coaches or semi-pro coaches. I'm sure they've got a contact for him.
how old is you husband if he is past the age 26 and above then sorry he ain't got a chance people mainly go for teenager's to help them grow
I don't know what the situation is out in the US. I imagine opportunities are few and far between. You could make video tapes of matches and send them to the chief scouts of pro teams. You might need to send them outside the US though. When I was 14, I wrote a letter to all the pro teams in the UK and included glowing references from ex coaches. I included my fixture list for the season so they knew where I'd be. Eventually I did get scouted but had a particularly poor game, the scout left, and then after he'd gone I scored the best goal of my life, beating the whole team to win the game. C'est la vie!
if ya husband is over the age of 24 then im sorry he has no chance they will tell him he is to old to start but if he really wants a go go to the closest pro team and ask for a trail and they might give him a go and if they say no try anither one coz i know a few players now that have done that sort of stuff and are now pro and they went to england and trialed with a few teams and one signed him and same with the others i knew and now they are on 80,000 dollars a week so yeah go to them and ask

Tell him to streak the field during a game.
Well I'm 13, and play soccer. I'm not big on mens soccer. I've played since I was four. I play on ODP, a junior olympic team, and on my club team. I got noticed by my coach. I used to play on a division 5 team, and in one year I kept practicing and being the best I could and in one season played on like 9 teams, (division 5 in pags to 4to 3 to 2 to 1 to cup to premiere 2, to premiere 1 to ODP) until i found the one i'm on now. You can't suddenly be a pro. your husband has to work on it, and if his coach thinks he's good enough to be pro, then he will try to set you up. you can also organize a meeting with his coach. Ask him a few questions about pro, and you might actually get some luck, and good luck on getting to pro.
