How can I make my husband face the bills? I鈥檓 tired of doing the accounting of the house it stresses me out and he spends money like it falls on trees. I need him to realize we have a budget. He is the youngest in his family and spoiled by his parents. Any suggestions?How can I make my husband face the bills?
My husband and I just completed a financial peace course by Dave Ramsey. This did a world pf good for the two of us. It got us on the same page, financially, and made us really think about where we wanted to go in the future. My husband is the same exact way, he is the only child and his parents still gave him money up until we got married...





Now I am struggling with the same issues, its as if he does not realize that we do not have all the money in the world. I stopped paying his way for everything and made him pay every single bill the next month to make him realize what we can and can't afford. He is still struggling with the idea of responsible spending...
Honestly? My husband used to do our bills then when he gave me my $200/week budget I would be PISSED. Guess what? I am the youngest..and spoiled.





When he bought his own business he was so busy that I had to start paying the bills...and now....I fully UNDERSTAND the budget and why it is necessary. I dont think I ever would have fully understood had I not had to deal with the stress of paying the bills and seeing how little was left.





Make him do it for a month - or have him sit in with you so he understands what exactly is going on in your finances. It can be a big stresser on your relationship so it's better that you both understand what you have to spend!
give him the check book and tell him to pay the bills, or he can start useing some of the money he likes to spend by paying you for your book keeping skills
Write them all down, how much, when they are due out, incoming and outgoing money and stick it under his nose!
