Just get a 1040. You'll probably be taking standard deduction and you won't have to file other schedules unless you have significant interest, dividends, own a business, own rental property, etc. What tax forms will my husband and I need to file?
You will need at least a form 1040 and the instruction book for it. You probably want to grab a schedule A in case you have enough deductions to itemize. Don't forget whatever forms your state uses also.
If all of your income is from some combination of W-2's, interest and unemployment comp, and you aren't eligible for any credits, you can use a form 1040EZ.
You can probably file with the 1040-EZ form. If not, then use the 1040-A.
You should download 1040 - EZ from the irs
1040 ez form or do them online at Tax Act it's free
